Life in Aussie

People used to say that even when things change, something will always stay the same. I do suppose that living here does prove it a little. However, the feeling of nostalgic does not go away easily, I do miss home...The laughter...The food...The Internet...The People especially

Earth Hour maybe the IN thing in Aussie...but something else is more hyped this time of the year.

Exterior

Interior

Rear
Red Hot Ferrari(s) on the streets of Lygon.
Blue is also comparable don't ya think?
At least a dozen Ferrari(s) is seen either parked or circling around the street continously.

Just like my jay-walking friend said..."It's every man's dream to get run over by a Ferrari at high speed".

Besides that...It's night basketball

And some Night Scenes

It's always good to be in Aussie when Earth Hour is an In thing here.
Even better when you are staying with 40+ other people under the same roof

Sigh...unfortunately...the darkness is when all the homo...I mean friendly people in house shows up at your door.

Wonder if I should put this outside?

Happy Earth Hour!

Better get to shower before the lights goes off...(*hustle hustle*)

Ah...Drama's over...Got 8/10 for mime along with good laughter for the other acts.

Since I don't have much to do...I just drop a post here for the fun of it.

Though I came across a rather lame joke in one of the games...It goes like this...

A wanderer gambler in his journey bumped into a group of caravan travellers.

So the gambler became fast friends with one of the traveller and before he leaves on his next journey...He told that traveller friend of his.

Gambler: I don't know where will I go next, maybe the opposite direction of you. So let's
make a bet? I bet $100 that we will meet again.

Traveller A : Okay, then I bet that we won't ever see each other again.

After the gambler left...another traveller from the caravan asked the traveller.

Traveller B : Say, how is he (the gambler) gonna pay u anyway?

Traveller A : Isn't it obvious? The next time we meet of course.

Traveller B : But...

I left out the last part of the reasoning...Try guessing.

Few days back my aunt brought me and me sis out for dinner due to her birthday.
Happily we went in an Italian restaurant...and ended up staring at the menu which is...

1 page long....with less than 15 choices in total.
Oh well...might as well just order.
Snapper fillet $27.50 (RM appro 68) in a small portion.
Etc...etc...

So the meal came up to be...more than what I have in my wallet right now...(3 digit...leftmost digit is 1).
Good thing Gelato ice-cream is always reliable.

Exam is coming up ...April 4th...
Homework is piling up ...More than I can count...
Tiredness is rising up ...Wonder why...
Homesickness is stacking up ...Don't we all?...
Supplies however, is going down ...Bad allocation probs...

Ahhh....got drama mime tomorrow...!!(*depressing*)

I THINK today is my cousin's wedding back in Msia. Anyhow, I wish him and his bride a long lasting peaceful and happy marriage.

This is one of the things I seriously regret not being able to be around for...I mean...how much have i lost...sigh...

On an off title note...The weather here is changing a weeny little too much...Made by flu worse day by day.
One day it's Msia's hotness+ dryness here...The next day...It's dry wind + cold weather...

I really really really don't know what to expect for winter...*sniffle* *sniffle*

My sis turns 23!...Haha

All my wishes goes to her today...Happy Birthday Sis!...no presents as usual though.

Chances of her reading this blog is low but as formalities, this have to be posted.

Hmm...I might as well put some pictures of my room to fill in this post a bit.

Essential area

Uh....the door...duh?

Two new tenants in my room

Guess what this is?

Working area and also the messiest place in the room. (aside from in the closet)

Poetry just isn't my cup of tea...I prefer coffee

Hardly got the time to even do my personal stuff these days...Exam is in 2 weeks.
Homework piling higher than Mt. Kinabalu...good thing it's not Everest yet.

At last got some slight time to do blogging today along with some things that I delayed for a few days....

Happy Extra Belated Birthday,Rachel!
Hope You Really Like The Present as...

Along with...

Graphics looks soo much nicer outside of blogs...Oh well...
I just need to put it somewhere for now.

Sigh....*work work*...

Oh~...how could I miss this poem...

KL by Fergus Ong

Biography of Author : Fergus Ong is an ex-Foundation Studies student of Trinity College, who went on to complete a degree in Media Studies and Creative Writing at the University of Melbourne. He now resides in Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur

Mythic place
to a Malaysian town-boy,
you loom with all those icons,
symbolic of some National Identity.
KL, let’s be frank.
Do you know of your
International reputation
for smog
and oppressive federal government?
famous for your Twin Towers,
famous for your parliament building,
infamous for Anwar?

KL, you wondrous shopping mall,
you mighty conglomerate of business and finance
you stand so proud as the nation’s
heart and lung.
You are first in the news
best in entertainment.
Earliest to receive the latest TV stations
and always the one with the topdog schools.
You’re a hip nightspot, KL,
what is it about your presence
that has stolen so many Malay poems
about young and hopeful farmer’s sons,
travelling to you in search of a job?
They don’t have happy endings.
I know them, high school Malay poems.
They don’t have happy endings.

And all of your people,
oh, you KL people.
You are so KL
for not knowing much
about what’s outside your
little Silicon Valley.
Your handphone culture
Your Starbucks Coffee
Your theme parks and
Your world record flagpole.

You, cosmopolitan Metropolis
with all those nightclubs and
exciting hang-out spots,
I’ll always equate you
with your ugly bus station.

Notorious little capital.
KL, you are cold and rich and hip
KL, you yuppie city wearing beepers.
KL, why the hell are you so big?
Fergus Ong (1980 - )

Please do Read it...out loud...You won't find this in Malaysia(I think?)

I got nothing too good to do these days...Stress overtaken me too much.

Story starts with simple idea of a gift... (Due to privacy reasons...not many characters will be given names)

Male Lead: Give this to the Female Lead. I won it during Moomba.
Female Lead: I don't want it.

(thus this...

...Poor little thing(ok...not little...big) This Big thing is left in SH's room
Surprisingly...It's extremely popular among the friends of the female lead...

And so I end up adopting it for temporary period by requesting from (look below) until hopeful it's master would take it back...In the meantime...

Ouch...the word is unreadable...oh well...
Anyhow...it's good stuff for my graphic designing.

Now as if I didn't get enough annoyance from people here about SPM results coming out tomorrow...I get messages from across Pacific telling that to me.

The Question now is...does knowing when will come out change anything?...Not saying you gonna go steal and change your results or anything.

Conclusion: Go get it...Cry and laugh after that and clear your minds today. Thinking won't change your result and for the last time, I know it's tomorrow.

Final thing is...I am few thousand km away from Melaka. Whatever results I get...I will only reap it by December and therefore does not concern me till another 9 months.

Admittedly...I got too bored in literature lecture and took out my phone to snap this...
Somehow it does make it less boring with such pictures don't ya think?

On the other hand, Maths 1 lecture reminded me back in Msia. Lecturer talk in front...We talk in the back. Totally comparable with teachers back in MHS.

Here in Melbourne, Moomba is a annual festival happening for the Labour Day on the 9th of March.

As a new not-so-permanent resident in Melbourne, it's only normal to go take a look at it.

Being a Water Festival naturally means it's gonna be near water, in this case it is the Yarra River which is in the central of Melbourne, Victoria.

Pictures for the fireworks and etc will follow once I get my hands on it...

The fireworks is beautiful...Well, it is not Olympic standard but at least it is real.
The games is expensive(ok...getting used to Msian RM->Aussie $ pricing needs time).
But the rides is soo cool, makes me want to go try...too bad my heart is not gonna last very long if I do.

Coming from someone that really hates crowds and dislike countdown events...I have to say I really quite enjoyed this.
Maybe it is because it is not possible to feel hot due to the cool weather and it makes being in a crowd comfortable.

On the other hand...the crowd is a little overfriendly...

Side note:

This is not mine...Just borrowed it and the words kinda describe it in short...

Which person said that college life was free...He obviously never tried hard enough.

From one class to another is as if like 15min marathon per class. Each separated about 2-3km away. Not to mention classes ends at 5+...

Homework is perhaps the best part of it. Maths 2 homework is a joke...a very bad joke that I can't even laugh to it.

One single question takes 2 pages of A4 paper to finish...not by writing equation...by writing sentences that resembles an essay.

Hardly got enough time to even relax these days...unless homework is out of the way of course.
Oh well, fun and games is over...Time to rev up the brains a little...

I figured might as well add some other pictures that I used to miss out.
Left to Right : Yours Truly,Guo Liang, Matthew, Yann Kang.

From Right Poser: Sean and Top which is from Thailand...his English is quite impressive though...

Summer just went by, lots of things happened though...
Bush fires, heat waves, me coming to Melbourne and so on.

Autumn does mean that the temperature is going downhill by a bit from now on and apparently today marks the start of autumn rather well.

For starters...rain drops falling on my head...a lot today and yesterday I got a sms from the police department stating there will be high wind today...fair enough. It's high enough to make some of my housemate go crazy.

Reason being?...High wind carries dust/soot or anything flying around straight into their rooms and...It's cleaning day!

House aside...lectures was only so-so today.
HOI starts today, both lecture and tutorial...

Lecture was ok...reminds me of Sejarah back in Msia just that it's less stress due to I-Don't-Have-To-Remember things issue.
Tutorial was quite fun mainly cause we did nothing. My tutor hates Twilight...alot apparently which I couldn't dare to admit I finished it...Oh well, let's leave it that way for now.

After that...Double Dosage of Maths 1, which also comes in a package of...DOUBLE HOMEWORK...
Maths 1 lecture was ugh...zzzz....Not to mention the lecturer took extra time which kinda caused something...

Me: I thought it's time already?
Yann Kang: Ya.
Sean: I need to go Royal Parade after this leh!!(Its about 1-2km away). 20min how to run there?
Both: Just escape class la!
Sean: *sneaks out of the class quietly*...

At least tutorials ain't bad at all.

Note: In case anyone not familiar with...future studies...tutorial is tuition...just in an official way.
Note 2: Anyone ever read/seen a book/film called Let The Right One In/Let Me In. My Twilight-hating tutor said it's good...I am getting the impression he got a sadism in him...

Note to self: Seems I am using this as a personal e-diary more than just normal blogging...

Well, I failed to get online properly yesterday due to technical issues which I don't want to think about it anymore.

Recap of the...Amazing Race
Since it's a photography contest...I figured some picture would be appropriate

Clock Towers of Melbourne...
Oh and...We obviously can't forget the...

The crews of course...Me and my very well capable leader.

Our very own Femme Fatale

Note to self: I sincerely hope she would never ever read this.

Flinder's Street Station.
One of the well known landmark of the place.

The 2nd most important person in our team: the Navigator and the cameraman.(which is why he's not in most picture).

Controversies aside...Behind is the IMAX theater.
The photocopied photo is extremely hard to read in this one...

To be continued with

One is missing, oh well

Left to right: Galuh, Yours Truly, Our Guardian(clearly, I forgot how to spell her name),Jojo and Andrew.

Ugh....Just when you can start to think that college life is so fun, they give you an impressive timetable to fill in all the gaps in the holes.

At least today's lecture is half half...half fun and half boring.

EAP or (English for Academic Purposes)
is 1/3 of our English...yes...its that big of a deal English is here.

Conducted in a small class appro. 14 students. It teaches how to use English properly...something like grammer/comprehension kinda stuff.

The 2nd of the English is Literature.
The lecture today is boring-till-death since its conducted by a poet(yes...my lecturer is an official poet).

"What is Poetry?"
-Connotation
-Metaphor
and so on.
